FAQ

•What is a web based biometric time and attendance system?
Timeneto is a web based biometric time and attendance system with fingerprint identification. Your employees will clock IN and OUT via their fingerprints on a USB fingerprint device, which is connected to a PC via the Internet,or to a Timeneto-PC USB or Timeneto-Air stand-alone reader. You can then collect time and attendance information on employees from different locations and monitor them using any computer with Internet access. Data can be printed or exported to Excel, PDF or ASCII, ensuring that you have accurate, up-to-date information in mere seconds.

•Which hardware supports the software?
The system supports a wide range of USB fingerprint readers. However, we recommendthe Timeneto Plus reader for optimal results.

•Are annual maintenance, service, warranty payments required?
No. You are only required to pay a small monthly fee to operate the system.

•How long does it take to register a new employee?
The key to success of any biometric system is the employee’s initial enrollment process. In order to ensure that all proper guidelines are followed and data is collected accurately, initial enrollment may take up to one minute per finger.

•How do I determine which finger to register?
The system displays recommendations regarding your preferable finger choice, to ensure one hundred percent success in user identification.

•How can I be sure that a new employee’s details have been accurately input?
At the end of the registration process, the employee is required to press the "Test" button, which will validate the registration process. This button may also be used to train the user in the use of the system.

•How many times must I place a finger on the reader for the system to identify it?
For successful reader registration, you need only place your finger on thereader once. The system identifies the user within 2-3 seconds, depending on the speed of Internet connection. However, in less than 0.1% of access attempts, the employee may berequired to repeat the process.

•What can I do if the software does not approve or validate an employee’s fingerprint?
In the event that the software fails to identify an employee’s fingerprint:
Re-enroll the employees fingerprint by pressing the
key to update his fingerprint template.
Add more fingerprints to the employee’s profile. It is recommended that at least two fingers from each hand be entered into the system at initial enrollment. If the system does not accept any of the fingerprints (and this is truly rare), employees can be registered and given a security password.

•Is the system installedand in use at other companies?
The system is in successful operation at a large number of locations around the world.

•How do I get started?
You have two options: You can register online at our website and fill outthe registration form. Following your registration, you’ll receive an email with a link to download a small installation program. Alternatively, you canuse our web portal and follow the simple installation instructions.

•What happens if the Internet connection or connection to the network server fails?
If, for any reason, communication to the Internet or central server should fail, the service will operate in a limited capacity. The system will still record time in and time out but will be in non-authentication mode. However, Web communication is very reliable and communication failure is a rare occurrence.

•Can I install this software on my network or on more than one computer?
Yes, it can be installed on any computer with a network browser and Internet connection. Its relatively low cost makes widespread installation throughout anorganization financially viable and worthwhile.

•Can more than one fingerprint reader be connected to a single computer?
At the present time, only one fingerprint reader can be connected to each single computer.

•What is the maximum distance from the computer at which the fingerprint reader should be placed?
The reader’s ideal distance from its computer is up to two meters. However, if signal boosters are used, readers can be placed as far away as 100 meters.

•What about confidentiality?
The system does not save or store user names with their fingerprints. Every fingerprint has an identifying code, which makes identification of a specific fingerprint  and connecting it to aspecific individual virtually impossible.

•Is the fingerprint in civilian format?
Yes, the fingerprint is stored not as an image but as a 128 digit number.

•How fast does the system identify a user?
Average user identification time is approximately 2 seconds.

•Is there a limit to  the number of users I can register in thesystem?
No! There is no limit to the number of users you can enroll in the system.

•Can information be leaked or accessed by unauthorized elements?
No! All information is encrypted within the system and is protected by the most advanced security systems available.

•Can the softwarecalculate wages?
Yes! The Internet attendance clock software displays an Excel based wagecalculation table that includes calculation for overtime.

•What happens if an employee forgets to register when entering or leaving?
The system administrator can perform manual correction of entry or exit throughthe Edit Employee Time option. The administrator can check whether an employee has forgotten to register entry, using the employee status report or the notification system.

•How does the system calculate overtime?
Overtime is calculated according to time specifications prepared for eachemployee and calibration of the time calculation module in the applicationoption. When overtime is calculated on a daily basis and time definition determines that the employee must work 8 hours (defined through employee groups), the first 8 hours are calculated as regular time, with additional hours being calculated at determined overtime rates.
